Recycling
Roanoke County is committed to recycling and we are working towards implementing an efficient and convenient method for citizens to recycle.

Recycling Locations:

Roanoke County currently offers several recycling drop off locations in addition to the Tinker Creek Transfer Station. Please place only those items in the designated bins as other material will contaminate the load and it will not be usable.

Cox Communications
The County of Roanoke in cooperation with Cox Communications has a recycling location available at the Cox Communications building on Fallowater Lane in southwest Roanoke County. This site currently accepts mixed paper, aluminum, and plastics #1 through #7. The container is usually emptied on Mondays and Thursdays.

Hollins University
The North County location for recycling is located on the campus of Hollins University. Upon entering the campus, follow the recycling signs on West Campus Drive to the drop-off site. This site currently accepts mixed paper, aluminum, and plastics #1 through #7. The container is usually emptied on Mondays and Thursdays.

Brambleton Center
The Brambleton Center is located in Southwest Roanoke County at 3738 Brambleton Avenue. This site currently accepts mixed paper, aluminum, and plastics #1 through #7. The container is emptied daily (Monday through Friday).

William Byrd Middle School
William Byrd Middle School is located in East Roanoke County at 2910 Washington Ave, Vinton. This site currently accepts mixed paper, aluminum, and plastics #1 through #7. The container is usually emptied on Mondays. Please note that this trailer is not available for dropoff materials Friday through Monday mornings as it is moved to another recycling location to handle overflow.

Glass Recycling Information
Currently, the dropoff trailers do not accept glass for recycling.  Please contact the Roanoke Valley Resource Authority at 857-5050 for more information regarding glass recycling.
