Sheriff Joseph E. Orange welcomes you to the Roanoke County Sheriff's Office official Web Page. Since 1838, the Office of the Sheriff has proudly served the citizens of Roanoke County. Our deputies provide three main areas of service to the community--corrections, court security, and civil process. The Roanoke County Sheriff's Office has a total of 101 including sworn,part time and civilian personnel.

Jury Scam Alert

Please be aware that there have been new attempts to scam residents into believing that they have missed jury duty and must pay a fine.  The scam attempts are coming from the phone number:  986-4060.  
The Roanoke County Sheriff’s Office WILL NOT call citizens to request money to be paid for outstanding warrants or failure to meet jury duty obligations.  In the event that you are contacted by these individuals, please contact the Sheriff’s Office immediately at 540-283-3145 or the Roanoke County Police Department at 562-3265



June 10, 2016 - The Roanoke County Sheriff's Office intends to apply for the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant ( JAG) for $15,426.00 for community education programs.
