Share Your Talents

Roanoke County Public Library is looking for volunteers who can share their skills and talents to help us provide outstanding library service to our residents. The library has a variety of volunteer opportunities at all locations. Volunteers must be at least 13 years old and have their own transportation. Flexible hours are available, but space is limited during the school year.

Examples of Volunteer Tasks

Library volunteers assist the library in a number of ways, including:

Assisting with special programs, events, and projects
Helping with book sales
Notifying patrons of request books
Preparing displays

Volunteers Under the Age of 18

Please note: A signature from a parent/guardian is required for volunteers under the age of 18. Teen volunteers must stop by South County, call the library’s youth services department at 540-777-8788 or fill out an online application to volunteer.
