About RCPL Hotspots

RCPL makes it easy to get online with a hotspot, available at all locations. If you are a library card holding resident of Roanoke County, you can check out a hotspot for free. Hotspots can be used to connect your tablet, laptop, or other WiFi enabled device to 4G LTE networks. RCPL hotspots can be borrowed for 28 days. Check one out here.

Hotspots may be borrowed by RCPL patrons aged 18 and older who live within Roanoke County and have a library card in good standing. One hotspot may be checked out per library card at a time. Please return the hotspot to the library service desk or via curbside/drive thru, during open hours. Do not place in book returns/drop boxes.

Hotspots will deactivate if not returned on the due date.

The Library reserves the right to refuse service to patrons who abuse equipment or who are repeatedly late in returning electronic devices.

Please do not leave hotspots in a space prone to heat as there is a risk of the battery exploding and causing a fire.
