Beginning Monday, July 8, a section of Route 116 (Jae Valley Road) in Roanoke County will be reduced to one lane as crews repair the bridge over Back Creek.
A temporary signal will be installed to control traffic while work is taking place on the bridge. In addition, the speed limit will be reduced to 35 miles per hour in the work zone. The travel lane has been reduced from 12 feet wide to 11 feet wide.
The bridge is located approximately 2.4 miles from the City of Roanoke and one mile from the Franklin County line. Signs will be posted to alert drivers.
Weather permitting, the work will be complete in early September.
