The Virginia Department of Health is advising people to avoid contact with the water in a tributary feeding Carvin's Creek between Robertson Ln. & Plantation Rd. A sewage overflow was identified flowing into the stream that may cause waterborne illness. The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality and the Western Virginia Water Authority have already been on site to evaluate the situation.
