The Roanoke County Pipeline Advisory Committee will brief the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors about the committee's
latest activities on June 9.
The latest information includes potential alignment plans for the pipeline that have been submitted by Mountain Valley Pipeline. Segments from the plan that include Roanoke County and adjacent localities have been posted to the website. The Pipeline Advisory Committee has been working with Roanoke County staff to provide the latest information and resources to concerned citizens. including a new GIS-enabled mapping service dedicated to mapping the pipeline route and proposed alternate routes through Roanoke County. The new application includes property data and other map overlays that illustrate the potential routes the pipeline may take if approved by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
The Roanoke County Mountain Valley Pipeline web page also features a convenient link to the FERC eComment service, where citizens can post public comments to FERC about the project. The deadline to submit comments is June 16, 2015. A link to a video of public comments previously made during the May 5, 2015 FERC Public Scoping meeting has also been posted.
