When you have requested material ready to pick up, you’ll receive an email from our system (emails will come from firstname.lastname@example.org) letting you know it’s ready for you. It’s all automatic, so you won’t have to wait for a staff member to email or call you anymore!

It’s easy to get a library card. If you’re a resident of Virginia, you can receive your free library card from any Roanoke Valley public library or bookmobile.

Cards expire every two years to ensure our records are up to date. If your card has expired, give us a call or stop by any Roanoke Valley Library for assistance.
The Glenvar Library has a notary. Please call 540-387-6163 before visiting the library to make sure they are available.
Roanoke County Public Library is a designated Passport Acceptance Facility. We process passport applications by appointment only.

A Little Free Library is a free book-sharing box where anyone may take a book or share a book. They function on the honor system. You do not need to share a book in order to take one. The Library and Parks & Rec have teamed up to have Little Free Libraries in parks across Roanoke County. View those locations here.
