What is a Notice of Reassessment? Why did I receive such a notice?
Virginia State Code (58.1-3330) requires that property owners be notified of any change in their real estate assessment. Due to the county's policy of conducting an annual reassessment, each property owner receives a Notice of Reassessment every January. Throughout the year, any changes to property that effect it's assessed value requires a Notice of Reassessment to be sent to the property owner.
