Children's staff from RCPL engage kids and parents in storytime! Sessions focus on introducing and practicing early literacy skills and activities for children and caretakers. To register for storytime, click on the link and a Zoom link will be emailed to you the morning of the storytime session. For ages birth to 5 years old.
From January 11th to March 5th, Roanoke County Public Library will participate in Beanstack’s Fourth Annual Winter Reading Challenge, sponsored by Simon & Schuster. Books Like Us is a celebration of diversity, harnessing the transformative power of seeing oneself reflected in a book. This Winter, participating communities are invited to explore these books, from authors spanning an array of diverse backgrounds.
We challenge our patrons to read at least 2 books before March 5th and keep track of their reading on our Beanstack site at rocolibrary.beanstack.org.

The library will notify you when your date is ready and you can pick it up curbside, at the drive thru or in the library. Travel through time and meet some of the most famous people in history! Every week we will meet favorite characters from the Who Was...? book series. Ideal for ages 7-12. The Virginia Department of Transportation invites you to attend a virtual design public hearing for a project to widen 5.1 miles of Interstate 81 between exits 137 and 141 in Roanoke County and Salem. The hearing will be held on Tuesday, February 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. as a virtual event. Click on the link to learn more about the project, comment on the proposed project, and participate in the virtual public hearing on February 9th. VDOT representatives will make a presentation beginning at 5 p.m. and answer questions through the WebEx Chat function after the presentation is completed. A recorded version of the presentation will be available on the project page after the hearing.
