- Roanoke County Police Foundation
The Roanoke County Police Foundation (RCPF) is a non-profit, 501 (c)(3) organization which serves citizens and other non-profit organizations who provide valuable support or resources to citizens within Roanoke County.
The primary focus of the Roanoke County Police Foundation is to provide assistance to citizens which, through their interaction with Roanoke County Police officers, have demonstrated a need for some form of assistance and for which other immediate assistance is unavailable. Contributions from RCPF are usually experienced on an "encounter" basis. However, contributions may be used for certain planned events or programs.
Summer Camp
The annual summer camp - C.O.P.S. Camp is the prominent program of the RCPF. Annually, the RCPF subsidizes the cost of tuition for each student. The summer of 2019, will mark the 19th year the camp has been operational. The RCPF is fortunate to have maintained the support of the community and Roanoke County Parks and Recreation to continue to make C.O.P.S. Camp a success.
C.O.P.S. Camp (Challenging Opportunities for Police and Students) is a collaborative effort between the Roanoke County Police Department, Roanoke County Police Foundation, Roanoke County Parks and Recreation, and Roanoke County Public Schools. Our main focus is having FUN!!! We emphasize teamwork and safety to give each young participant an experience they will not soon forget. Any rising 6th - 8th grader in a Roanoke County School is welcome to apply for a camper's spot. A total of 60 camper slots are available. The school resource officer for your child's school will review the application to endorse the application. Selection will be based on citizenship, character, trustworthiness, and being in good standing within the school.
