Civil Division
Civil cases are most often disputes between two private persons (individuals, groups or corporations), at least one of whom feels they have been wronged by the other. There are disputes in which monetary damages are alleged. There are also disputes involving something other than money (such as divorce, estates, property ownership, and wills).
Current and past civil cases as well as any judgments that may result from such cases, are fully searchable in the public records room of the Office of the Clerk of Circuit Court on the second floor of the Roanoke County Courthouse.
Civil Docket call convenes the first Friday of February, April, June, October and December and the second Friday in August, at 10:30 a.m. The purpose of Docket Call is to set hearing and trial dates. Generally, civil trials begin at 9 a.m.
