Fire Safety & Severe Weather Safety Simulator

Roanoke County Fire and Rescue is excited to offer a new Fire Safety Trailer and Severe Weather Simulator. Download our Fire Safety Trailer Flyer (PDF) for details and find out how you can reserve it for your event!

Patches & Pumper

A fully animated Dalmatian Dog and fire truck robot, Patches and Pumper can move, speak, listen, wink, and blink all by remote control. As this little fire pup talks, his mouth moves in synchronization with his words.

Patches and Pumper is just the right size for teaching children because he can communicate with them at their level. This fire prevention robot is agile enough to maneuver easily in school classrooms and other restricted areas. With Patches' friendly, furry face, he presents a positive image to all, while he steers Pumper around the room. His headlights, taillights and flashing warning lights make him highly visible.

Fireworks Safety

The Roanoke County Fire Marshal's Office would like to remind citizens that Virginia laws prohibit the use of consumer fireworks for private use with the following exceptions: sparklers, fountains, pharaohs, serpents, and caps. It is important to realize that consumer fireworks can also be dangerous, especially to children.
