Request Police Reports

Traffic Accidents

Citizens involved in a traffic accident investigated by Roanoke County Police may contact the Roanoke County Police Records Division at 540-777-8605 for a copy of the accident report. There is no charge for citizens.

>> Citizens can also submit an online Request for Public Records for traffic accident reports.

Insurance companies may also go online to DMV Now to obtain a copy of an accident report.

All Other Police Reports

Victims of a crime may also contact the Roanoke County Police Records Division at 540-777-8605 for a copy of a police report. The report must be picked up in person at the police department, please be prepared to show a photo id (Driver's License, U.S. Passport). When calling, be prepared to provide:

Date and time of the incident
Location of the incident
Name of parties involved
Officer name
