Functions The K-9 Unit is an essential tool in the department's proactive approach to the suppression of the use and distribution of illegal narcotics in Roanoke County. As part of that effort, one of their primary functions is to detect and eradicate illegal narcotics in our schools, neighborhoods and on our streets.
Public Demonstrations The K-9 teams conduct public demonstrations on a regular basis to civic groups, scout troops, childcare centers, church groups and schools.
