Overview
The Crime Prevention Office serves to by opening and maintaining lines of communication between the Police Department and citizens of Roanoke County through a variety of different programs.

The Neighborhood Watch programs offers active participation of residents in Roanoke County to reduce crime in neighborhoods within the County.
Public Safety Academy
A Public Safety Academy is held for citizens to learn more about the Police Department, Fire Department and Sheriffs Department and their functions.
The Roanoke County Police Department is a member agency for "Project Lifesaver". Project Lifesaver is a partnership with local law enforcement and families of Alzheimer's disease and other related disorders such as Down Syndrome and Autism. Specially trained officer's respond to the scene of a missing victim and use electronic technology to assist in locating the victim in a minimal amount of time.
