- Commonwealth's Attorney: Roanoke County's Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney is located in the Roanoke County Courthouse at 305 East Main Street, Salem, Virginia. The Commonwealth's Attorney handles criminal prosecutions and also administers the Public Defender's office. The Commonwealth's Attorney is an elected Constitutional Officer. - Legal Aid Society of the Roanoke Valley: The Legal Aid Society of the Roanoke Valley is a private non-profit organization providing free civil legal assistance to low-income residents of Virginia's Roanoke Valley.
- Virginia State Bar Lawyer's Referral Service: The Virginia Lawyer Referral Service (VLRS) assists the public with referrals to practicing members of the Virginia State Bar.

- Virginia's Court System: The official website for the Virginia Court system. Here you will find general information, recent opinions of the courts, some forms and links to other state websites.
- Virginia Legislative Information: Covers information on the Virginia General Assembly, bills, resolutions, state laws, and other administrative regulations.

- Virginia Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Advisory Council: The Virginia Freedom of Information Advisory Council, a state agency, is an office with the expertise to help resolve disputes over Freedom of Information issues.

- FedWorld Network Information Home Page: FedWorld was established by The National Technical Information Service (NTIS), an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce, to serve as the online locator service for a comprehensive inventory of information disseminated by the Federal Government.
