Believe it or not, even the IRS recognizes this, which is why they offer a handful of commuter fringe benefits for you to take advantage of. 

SMART SCALE, formerly known as House Bill 2, is a system for choosing and funding transportation projects in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Within Roanoke County, six SMART SCALE-funded projects ranged in scale and type from an interstate highway to the Roanoke River Greenway.
