[ARCHIVED] Mudslide Blocks Bent Mountain Road, Flooding Continues

September 29, 2015 – Roanoke County Police are asking drivers to avoid a portion of Bent Mountain Road (U.S. 221), near Back Creek Orchard Rd and Countrywood Dr. Due to a mudslide in the 8500 block of Bent Mountain Road, water is now flowing across the road, making it impassable.

Police have northbound and southbound lanes blocked off until VDOT crews can alleviate the water on the roadway, which is anticipated to take an hour to complete. An update will be provided.
