(ROANOKE COUNTY, VA – March 2, 2018) – Roanoke County Economic Development and the Roanoke Valley Broadband Authority are collaborating to bring Roanoke business owners, Broadband for Business, a free workshop to provide answers to common questions about broadband.

The workshop will be held Thursday, March 8, 2018 at South County Public Library located at 6303 Merriman Road in Roanoke from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Roanoke broadband experts will address topics that business leaders face each day in the valley including:

• How the latest software and hardware industry trends will affect your future business connectivity needs
• What service levels and capacity agreements are necessary to keep your business operating at peak efficiency
• Who to call and what questions to ask when it’s time to renew your service contract
• How internet connectivity works and how to get the best possible connection at the most competitive price point
• How regional infrastructure can directly affect your competitive position
• Which vendors are operating in the region
• Become a more informed commercial consumer and learn why everyone is talking about broadband

Jill Loope, Director of Economic Development for Roanoke County added that "Broadband is becoming increasingly important in today’s society; just last year Roanoke County in collaboration with the Broadband authority completed a 25 mile extension of broadband in our community. We are fortunate to have Frank Smith participating in this workshop to address common questions and help businesses and citizens understand the opportunity created by the Broadband Authority.”
