[ARCHIVED] RVRA Rail Car Tipper Repaired at Smith Gap Landfill, Truck Hauling to Be Discontinued

(ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. - April 20, 2018) - The Roanoke Valley Resource Authority (RVRA) has advised Roanoke County that the rail car tipper at Smith Gap Landfill has been repaired. RVRA officials are planning to resume its regular service with Norfolk Southern rail delivery of solid waste to the landfill this evening. At this time, the RVRA does not anticipate using any more trucks to haul solid waste on Bradshaw Road.
