Thanksgiving 2023 Spotlight

Roanoke County Thanksgiving Holiday Schedule

Roanoke County Offices will be closed on Thursday, November 23, and Friday, November 24, 2023. in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. See more information below about changes to services and facility schedules.

Trash Collection
There will be no trash collection on Thursday, Nov. 23, or Friday, Nov. 24. Trash Collection for the week of Thanksgiving will be as follows:

Monday and Tuesday routes will be collected on Monday, Nov 20.
Wednesday routes will be collected on Tuesday, Nov 21.
Thursday routes will be collected on Wednesday, Nov 22.

Please place your containers to the street on the listed day and leave until emptied.

Libraries - Roanoke County Public Libraries will close at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, Nov. 22, and will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23, and Friday, Nov. 24.

Parks, Recreation & Tourism Facilities

Wednesday, Nov. 22 - Green Ridge Recreation Center will close at 2:00 PM.
Thursday, Nov. 23 - All Recreation Facilities Closed
Friday, Nov. 24 schedules below:
- Explore Park Visitor Center - Open 11 AM - 10:15 PM
- Green Ridge Recreation Center - Open 5:30 AM - 7:00 PM
- Public Service Center – Closed
- Brambleton Recreation Center – Closed

Clerk of Circuit Court’s Office - Roanoke County Circuit Court will be closing at 12 noon on Wednesday, Nov. 22, and will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23, and Friday, Nov. 24.

CORTRAN - No services on Thursday, Nov. 23, or Friday, Nov. 24.

McAfee Knob Trailhead Shuttle – No service on Thursday, Nov. 23. The shuttle will run on Friday, Nov. 24, Saturday, Nov. 25, and Sunday, November 26.
