[ARCHIVED] Roanoke County 911 Services Restored

All telecommunications issues affecting Roanoke County’s 911 system have been restored. While some electrical work at the County’s Public Safety building was being conducted, an internal failure caused a power outage for the County’s telecommunications. Due to longstanding mutual aid agreements with neighboring localities, 911 calls were redirected to Roanoke City. Both jurisdictions conduct annual training to ensure preparedness for such events.

Roanoke County is currently experiencing county-wide telecommunications issues to include the 911 phone lines. We are working to identify the issues and coordinating with our neighboring jurisdictions for public safety support.
