Armed Robbery

(ROANOKE COUNTY, VA - October 4, 2024)  On Wednesday, October 2, around 9 p.m., Roanoke County Police officers responded to a report of a robbery at the Stop In located in the 4000 block of Electric Road (Cave Spring area).  Two subjects with faces partially covered entered the store and presented a firearm on the clerk and demanded money.  After seizing roughly $1,000, the suspects left the store and police were able to track their movements to the area of Windy Hill Key Apartments (Cave Spring area).

On Thursday, October 3, Roanoke County detectives were able to develop enough probable cause to execute a search warrant at Windy Hill Key Apartments. No one was present at the apartment, but detectives located evidence used in the robbery. Later that evening, a neighbor called in advising two subjects were back at the apartment. Roanoke County Police officers responded back out to the scene and the two subjects attempted to flee. Two firearms were recovered and one of the suspects was apprehended. (Ms.) Tatiyanna Briggs, 18, of Roanoke was arrested for Robbery, Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, Wearing a Mask in a Public Place, and Obstruction. The other suspect is still at large. No description of that suspect is available currently.

There is no danger to the public and this case remains under investigation.
