The leaves are already changing in Roanoke County! Here’s our guide of all the great (photo-op worthy) things to do this fall.

McAfee Knob: This is the crown jewel of the region, especially during leaf season. 10/10 views and if you’re worried about parking, take the McAfee Knob Trailhead Shuttle.

Catawba Farmers Market: There are just a few more weeks left to enjoy the friendliest market in the valley! The market is open Thursdays Sept. 25, Oct. 2 and Oct. 9 from 3:00-6:30 p.m.

Bent Mountain Fall Festival: Join Roanoke County Parks, Recreation and Tourism for this FREE fall festival on Sept. 27 from 11 a.m.-5p.m. at the Bent Mountain Center. There will be food, vendors, a petting zoo and so much more!

GO Fest: Explore Park returns as the Adventure Outpost this year for GO Fest, Oct. 17-19. With camping, the Ultimate Air Dogs, and of course all the biking and hiking trails out at the park, there’s plenty to explore.

Trunk-or-Treat: Want a safe, fun Halloween experience? Join the Roanoke County Public Safety Departments at Trunk-or-Treat. This year’s event will be at the Northside Middle School parking lot on October 31 starting at 5 p.m.

Seasonal Drinks: What’s the best way to start a fall day? A seasonal coffee, of course. There are plenty of local coffee shops to get your caffeine needs – like Mill Mountain Coffee & Tea, Sycamore Station, and Abide!

Blue Ridge Parkway: Whether you’re going to and from an event or just taking a relaxing drive, enjoy a ride on the parkway to see the changing leaves.

Brambleton Craft Show: If you’re a craft lover or early holiday shopper (or both!) support local artisans at the Brambleton Craft Show Nov. 1, 8 a.m.-2p.m.
