[ARCHIVED] Fatal Traffic Crash on Washington Avenue

April 15, 2012 - Roanoke County police are continuing to investigate a two vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 4:45 p.m. today just outside of Vinton. Thirty-year-old Heather Williams of Roanoke was traveling east on Washington Avenue and was attempting to make a left turn onto Stonebridge Drive when the Toyota Tacoma she was driving was struck by a R-1 style Yamaha motorcycle. Williams was not injured in the crash. A passenger in the truck was taken to the hospital with what was described as non-life threatening injuries. The passenger was identified as 25-year-old Zachary Tolley of Vinton.

The driver of the motorcycle died later as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. On April 16, Police identified the victim as 25-year-old Michael J. Pulliam of Roanoke, Virginia. The investigation is continuing.
