[ARCHIVED] Traffic Fatality on Catawba Valley Drive

Roanoke County Police Department units were dispatched to a two vehicle crash in the 5900 block of Catawba Valley Drive.

Upon investigation, it was discovered that a white Ford F-150 truck that had been travelling southbound struck a blue Jeep Cherokee that had been travelling northbound. The vehicles struck at an angle with the head-on impact occurring in the northbound lane of Catawba Valley Drive. The impact caused both vehicles to strike the guard rail and to be engulfed in flames. Three passengers from the Jeep Cherokee were transported by Roanoke County Fire & Rescue personnel to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries...
