Crews have worked throughout the day to remove downed trees caused by high winds. VDOT staff will continue to monitor road conditions overnight.
Cold temperatures tonight may cause melting ice and snow to refreeze on some roads throughout the Salem District. Motorists should be alert to icy conditions and slippery spots, particularly on ramps, bridges, overpasses and other cool spots prone to freezing.
The Salem District includes the counties of Bedford, Botetourt, Carroll, Craig, Floyd, Franklin, Giles, Henry, Montgomery, Patrick, Pulaski, and Roanoke.
Motorists can find the latest road conditions by calling 511 or visiting www.511Virginia.org.
