A car struck a Roanoke County elementary school this afternoon causing only minor damage to the building and car. The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. outside Clearbrook Elementary school.
Roanoke County police say a female driver pulled up to the front of the school to pick up her child. While in line, the car drifted out of the lane and struck the front of the school at a slow rate of speed. There was no significant damage to the school and only minor damage to the car’s front bumper.
Police say it appears the female driver suffered from a medical emergency. Nobody else was in the vehicle. The woman was transported to a local hospital.
