SALEM – Preliminary work associated with the Interstate 581 and Valley View Boulevard interchange design-build project in Roanoke will require right lane closures this week on southbound Interstate 581.
Weather permitting, on Wednesday, June 19 and Thursday, June 20, a lane closure will be in place between Hershberger Road and Valley View Boulevard. On Sunday, June 23, a lane closure will be in place between Valley View Boulevard and the Liberty Road overpass. All lane closures will begin at 10 p.m. each night and will be in place until 6 a.m. the following morning.
In addition, beginning Wednesday, June 19 through Friday, June 21, right shoulder closures are scheduled for southbound I-581 between Hershberger Road and Valley View Boulevard. On Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23, the right shoulder between Valley View Boulevard and the Liberty Road overpass will be closed. The shoulder closures will be in place from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. each day.
