[ARCHIVED] Update on Scrap Metal Law in Roanoke County

People who pick up scrap metal or used building materials to sell to scrap metal dealers will now need to have a permit to sell the materials to a Scrap Company unless exempted by state code. The Roanoke County Police Department is in the process of developing the procedure to obtain a permit from their office and will not be requiring the permit until the processes are in place on or about August 14, 2013.

For more information, please contact Katherine Howe Jones at the Roanoke County Attorney’s Office at (540) 772-2071.
