Investigation Continuing In Fatal Fire


(Roanoke County, VA) – Fire Marshals from the Roanoke County Fire and Rescue Department and Detectives from the Roanoke County Police Department are continuing their investigation of a house fire that occurred in the early morning hours, Saturday, September 7. That fire was located in the 4700 block of Twelve o'Clock Knob Road in Roanoke County.

At this point, the cause of the fire has not been determined, although foul play is not suspected. The Medical Examiner's Office has determined that the victim died of smoke inhalation. The Medical Examiner's Office is still working to establish a positive identification of the single victim.

There is no further information available for release at this time.
