[ARCHIVED] Important Change to Homeowner Disposal Program at Resource Authority Transfer Station

Roanoke County residents are permitted to take items to the Roanoke Valley Resource Authority (RVRA) 20 times a year for free. Beginning in August 2010, residents who brought trailers that were longer than 8 feet were not permitted to dump those loads for free. This procedure has been modified to allow residents to use longer trailers without charge. However, the following rules apply: trailers longer than 8 feet will be charged for 2 trips, hauling vehicle cannot be more than a 3/4 ton truck, and trailer must be no more than a single axle. All other rules and procedures regarding this program remain the same. Please contact the Solid Waste Division at 387-6200 or visit our website for more information.
