When the first crews arrived at the bi-level wood framed house they found flames coming from the kitchen. It took crews from the Cave Spring and Back Creek stations about 15 minutes to mark the fire under control. The fire damage was contained to the kitchen; however there is smoke and heat damage to the main floor of the home.
The family of six who lived in the home is now displaced. The Roanoke Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross has been called upon to assist the family.
No injuries were reported.
