[ARCHIVED] Extreme Cold Forecast for Region, See Winter Preparedness Tips from VDEM

With extreme cold weather and bitter wind chill forecast for our region from 5 pm this afternoon until 3 pm Tuesday, residents are advised to take precautions for the falling temperatures this afternoon and overnight.

Wind chill temperatures are forecast to be from zero to 15 degrees below this afternoon, and may reach as low as 30 below zero tonight.

Possible impacts may include frozen water pipes in homes and frostbite to people outdoors.

Also please be mindful of pets and other domestic animals in the extreme cold. Make arrangements to bring your pets inside if at all possible.
