(Roanoke County, VA) – On March 3, 2014, at approximately 7:30 P.M. officers responded to the 3300 block of Circlebrook Drive in Roanoke County for a domestic disturbance. The victim, Randall Ploof, age 44, of Roanoke, was able to escape from an apartment after two subjects who lived with him attempted to strangle him and kill him. It was determined that this crime was preplanned and no other victims were targeted.
One of the subjects, Elizabeth Wright, age 24, of Roanoke, was hiding nearby and was arrested. The second subject, Joshua Dehart, age 22, of Roanoke, was arrested with the assistance of the US Marshal's Fugitive Task Force. Both subjects were charged with attempted murder and abduction. Dehart was also charged with strangulation.
Ploof did not require treatment for his injuries. Dehart and Wright were held without bond.
