SALEM – Drilling operations to make test borings on a bridge over Tinker Creek on Route 11 (Lee Highway) in Botetourt County will cause lane closures during daytime hours this week. Traffic will be shifted around the lane closures to use the center turn lane as a through lane. The bridge is located near Cloverdale just north of Route 11’s intersection with Route 1039 (Gibson Lane).
Work tentatively is scheduled daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., Tuesday, March 18 through Friday, March 21. Additional work days may be scheduled the following week if needed to complete the drilling.
Drivers should use caution and watch for changing traffic patterns.
These dates are tentative and could be adjusted depending on weather and work schedule.
The test borings are needed to develop plans for a future bridge replacement.
