[ARCHIVED] Roanoke County Public Library Facilities to Close Morning of August 22 for Training

Roanoke County, VA (Aug 18, 2014) – All six Roanoke County Public Library facilities – Bent Mountain, Glenvar, Hollins, Mt. Pleasant, South County, and Vinton – will be closed the morning of Friday, August 22 for employee training. These locations will re-open at 1:00 p.m. that same day, with regularly scheduled operations resuming on Saturday, August 23.

Library staff will be participating in emergency preparedness drills at South County Library during the half-day event. Citizens may see the presence of public safety vehicles in South County’s parking lot that morning but should not be alarmed, since it is only a training exercise. South County’s parking lot will be closed until 1:00 p.m., and the library’s book drop will also be inaccessible during that time. All other book drops in the system will remain open.

Roanoke County Public Library materials due on Friday, August 22 will be extended to Saturday, August 23.
