September 25, 2014—The County of Roanoke has scheduled a traffic detour for Meadowlark Road in Roanoke County. The work will begin on OCTOBER 6, 2014, at 8:00 am and is anticipated to remain in place for seven to ten days.
The project involves two culvert replacements on Meadowlark Road, near the intersection with Tanglewood Drive.
Phase 1 involves a closure at the north side of the intersection. During Phase 1, Meadowlark Road traffic will detour onto Tanglewood Drive and onto Hummingbird Lane, to return to Meadowlark Road.
Phase 2 involves a closure at the south side of the intersection. During Phase 2, Meadowlark Road traffic traveling to the north of the closure will detour onto Merriman Road, onto Chaparral Drive, and onto Hummingbird Lane, to return to Meadowlark Road. Local traffic will be allowed to travel Meadowlark Road to the point of the closure.
Residents who live along the detour route should expect traffic congestion and delays, especially during peak travel times. Meadowlark Road motorists should allow extra time to reach their destinations.
