[ARCHIVED] TRAFFIC ALERT Revisio: Elm Avenue Project to Impact Elm Avenue Traffic Saturday Afternoon

UPDATE:

Due to the Veteran’s parade, the work previously scheduled on Saturday morning, November 8, will now be performed Saturday afternoon. Eastbound Elm Avenue will be closed and westbound Elm Avenue will be reduced to one lane beginning at 12:30 p.m. for bridge paving. At 4 p.m., the eastbound lanes will re-open. Westbound Elm Avenue’s left turn lane will still be closed until 6 a.m. Sunday morning.

SALEM – On Saturday, Nov. 8, eastbound Elm Avenue will be closed for concrete pouring on the bridge over Interstate 581 in Roanoke.

Beginning at 5:30 a.m., eastbound Elm Avenue will be closed starting at Williamson Road. The eastbound lane will be re-opened by 10 a.m.

Also at 5:30 a.m., westbound Elm Avenue will be reduced to one lane. The left turn lane from westbound Elm Avenue onto southbound I-581/Route 220 Expressway also will be closed. The lane and the ramp will re-open by 6 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 9.

Elm Avenue drivers will need to seek alternate routes during the closure. Drivers on I-581/Route 220 Expressway should expect delays and use caution.
