SALEM (3:00 p.m.) – Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) equipment operators and contractors in western Virginia have taken advantage of the daytime hours by treating primary and secondary roads throughout the district.
Due to temperatures that are expected to drop below freezing this evening, icy road conditions are possible as moisture on road surfaces will freeze back, especially overnight. Motorists should use caution this evening and until temperatures rise and road conditions improve.
VDOT crews will continue to monitor weather forecasts and road conditions throughout the evening and overnight hours and will be responding as necessary.
