REVISION: On Wednesday, February 4, there has been a change regarding which lanes will be closed this evening. Instead of the right lane, the left lane of southbound I-581 will close at 8 p.m. and the center lane will close at 10 p.m. Both lanes will re-open at 6 a.m. the following morning.
SALEM – Nighttime lane closures for Interstate 581 are scheduled for next week as the Interstate 581 Valley View interchange project in Roanoke continues.
On Tuesday, February 3 and Thursday, February 5, the right lane of northbound I-581 will close at 8 p.m. and the center lane will close at 10 p.m. Both lanes will re-open at 6 a.m. the following morning.
On Wednesday, February 4 and Friday, February 6, the right lane of southbound I-581 will close at 8 p.m. and the center lane will close at 10 p.m. Both lanes will re-open at 6 a.m. the following morning.
This work is weather and work schedule permitting. Drivers are encouraged to watch for signs and message boards and to use caution as they travel through the work zones. Motorists should expect delays.
