[ARCHIVED] Traffic Alert Update: Parking at Interstate 81 Exit 140 Park and Ride Impacted

SALEM – Weather permitting, pavement repairs at the Interstate 81 Park and Ride lot off exit 140 (Salem) in Roanoke County will impact parking during nighttime hours, Sunday, March 22 night through the morning of Thursday, March 26.

Work will be performed each night from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning. During these hours, those spaces in the parking facility designated with a white “X” will be unavailable. Overnight and long-term Park and Ride users should not leave their vehicles in these designated spaces or they will be towed to a different parking space.

Improvements to the pavement on one side of the lot will eliminate available spaces during evening and morning hours of what is already a very full lot on a daily basis.

In addition, pavement repairs also will require the southern entrance into the Park and Ride facility to be closed when work is being performed. This entrance is the one closest to I-81.
The northern entrance will remain open for Park and Ride users and will not be impacted by the work.
