SALEM – The center and right lanes of southbound Interstate 581 in Roanoke will be closed beginning at 6:30 p.m. this evening for a bridge inspection due to an over-height vehicle striking the Liberty Road bridge over the interstate.
The bridge is located near mile marker two. Bridge inspectors with the Virginia Department of Transportation will inspect the bridge to determine the extent of the damage.
No estimated time for completing the inspection has been established at this time.
