(ROANOKE COUNTY, Va) - On Tuesday, April 28, the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors received a briefing from the Pipeline Advisory Committee detailing recent activities and upcoming milestones in the Mountain Valley Pipeline Project. One area of concern for the committee was the lack of public meetings in the vicinity of Roanoke County, where an alternate pipeline route is being explored.
The next public scope meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 5, at 7:00 p.m. at Eastern Montgomery High School, 4695 Crozier Road, Elliston, VA 24087.
After the presentation, the Board asked staff to prepare a resolution to request an additional public scope meeting to be held in Roanoke County by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and also requesting a 90-day extension on the public comment period for the Mountain Valley Pipeline project to accommodate Roanoke County residents.
