When firefighters arrived they reported smoke coming from the attic of a single story house. Crews from the Clearbrook and Cave Spring stations had the fire knocked down in about 20 minutes. The fire was contained to the attic space, but there is considerable water damage to the first floor.
A woman and her daughter were home at the time of the fire and evacuated the home without any injuries, along with their dog and cat.
Fire Investigators have determined that the cause of the fire is accidental and resulted from an electrical failure in the attic. Damage estimates are figured to be $80,000.
The family of three is displaced and making arrangements.
No injuries were reported.
