[ARCHIVED] Crash involving Pedestrian or Cyclist on Bent Mountain Rd

On 12/15/2015 at 559pm, officers of Roanoke County PD were dispatched to Bent Mountain Rd at Rocky Rd in reference to a single vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. It was reported the pedestrian struck was unresponsive. F&R personnel arrived on scene and determined the pedestrian was deceased. The driver of the vehicle who struck the pedestrian remained on scene and an initial police interview has been conducted. Speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors on the part of the driver. A traffic crash investigator responded to the scene for initial preliminary investigation and the Medical Examiner's office was notified. The remainder of the investigation will be conducted jointly between Roanoke County PD and the Medical Examiner's office. At this time, there are no charges placed.
