When crews arrived, they found smoke and flames coming from the garage of a two-story house. Firefighters searched the home before receiving word that no occupants were inside. The roof of the garage began to collapse and crews were required to fight the flames from outside the structure. Crews from the North County, Hollins and Masons Cove stations, along with a crew from Roanoke City, contained the flames to the garage and had them knocked down in less than 30 minutes.
Fire investigators are on scene.
