[ARCHIVED] Halloween Night Tweet-Along

Halloween Tweet-Along

On Halloween Night (October 31, 2016) the Roanoke County Police will participate in their second “tweet-along.” This time, the department will be live tweeting along with other law enforcement agencies throughout the Commonwealth. A tweet-along is a virtual ride-along in which citizens can follow along with an officer who is on patrol. The department recognizes the importance of engaging with the community, and this is another way in which we strive to interact with our community. The tweets will inform citizens of the types of situations that patrol officers face throughout their shifts. Members of the community can follow the Roanoke County Police via our twitter account @RoCoPD. The community can also follow along through the hash-tag #TweetsOnPatrol, in which they will be able to see live tweets from other law enforcement agencies throughout the Commonwealth. Roanoke County Police will be live tweeting from 5pm – Midnight, and we encourage the community to interact with us. However, anything of a sensitive nature will not be tweeted.
The police department is excited about this opportunity to further its community policing efforts and maintain the high level of support it already receives from the community.

If you have any questions about the tweet-along contact Sgt. Jeffrey Johnson at (540) 777-8689 or
