WHAT? A preview drive through the diverging diamond interchange, the second of its kind in the Commonwealth of Virginia, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new interchange on site at Valley View Boulevard and I-581.

9 a.m. Media Only: Travel to the “Left Side” first!
The media are invited to preview the new interchange and be the first to experience the drive through the new interchange pattern. Media are to gather at the Target parking lot on the sidewalk by the pedestrian bridge. VDOT representatives will be available to answer questions and drive news crews by bus through the new interchange for footage and photo opportunities. RSVP by Friday, November 18, 12 noon is required to Jen.Ward@vdot.virginia.gov.
10:30 a.m. Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
The City of Roanoke will hold an official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new interchange. Speakers will include Mayor Sherman Lea, VDOT Salem District Engineer Ken King, and Valley View Mall General Manager Louise Dudley. Local and state officials have also been invited to attend.
WHERE? The ribbon-cutting event will be held on site at the I-581 Valley View Boulevard interchange. Parking for the event will be available at the Target parking lot.
